The characters (finishing touches yet to be done)

I really enjoyed creating these. Each one took me a good few hours - there was a lot of trial and error, sketching ideas on paper, cutting the fabric (which comes from a set of fabric samples I'd found a few weeks earlier), painting the body parts that show skin, gluing some parts, sewing a lot of other parts together so that the arms/legs/head can move.
I shall not succumb to favouritism as they're all equal in my eyes (!) however...I do have a penchant for the French chef, whose accessories include real mini white buttons.

As the limbs and some heads move, what are your thoughts about the traditional filming technique to create some short clips? (ie lots of photo stills put together). My only worry is the backgrounds we'll need to create for this...

All comments and ideas very welcome!

The prime minister is back !

Hello everyone !
I'll join Alexandra to say again Happy New Year with a beautiful e-book for each group !

So here I'll post my drawing of UK's prime minister. I was fighting to draw the mouth... but rather than making a hole, I left it that way (I may improve it later).
I think I'll add colors with the animation software.

HAPPY NEW YEAR !! ...Post-xmas-hol-update

Happy New Year to all. This is just a quick update post, to see where we're at. It's been just over a month since our last activity on here, and it's about time we kick off again. Cristina, Emma and I didn't get a chance to meet up over the hols (too busy eating christmassy food and sleeping...), so we're looking forward to developing our ideas and our ebook.
I think our main focus point should be the characters, ie. what they look like & a couple of personality traits... Attempting to work with Toonboom hasn't proved very productive anyway, but once we have the characters, we'll be able to make some progress...
